200 pounds of feathers, a transformed studio space and a line around the block with top fashion press, buyers and influencers eagerly awaiting the spectacle, is how we did NYFW Spring ’17.
As guests filed in they entered the snow globe of imagination, which was filled with models slowly moving from inside the feather filled screen.
On the other side of the screen, the guests looked just as fabulous. Whitney Port, actress Jessica Lowndes and blogger Rocky Barnes all arrived in Cynthia Rowley ensembles. This was a pajama party for grown ups with champagne and Titos’ Vodka serving up refreshing ‘Harvest Cup’ pomegranate, apple and lime cocktails on one of the hottest days of Fashion Week.
The Spring ’17 collection was a re-imagination of traditional loungewear, brought to life with luxurious embroided satin, glittery lamé and a cacophony of prints. Vogue called the fantasy feather party “fun-spirited, zany, a little retro and just the right amount of outré. Girlish, but not girly.”
This range is a casual, relaxed mix where you can take the updated kimono dress from the lounge room to a party or slip a skirt over your swimsuit after a day at the beach. We stacked the swimwear and silk pajamas with bangles and gem encrusted necklaces, laser cut metal sunglasses, terry cloth bags and slides and satin session hats.
